OTTAWA, Ontario, August 28, 2013 – The Canadian Renewable Fuels Association today welcomed the release of a new report detailing a vision for the future of biofuels in Atlantic Canada. The report, “Fuelling the Future: Atlantic Canada’s Bioenergy Opportunities Project” proposes that a biofuels production industry in Atlantic Canada could stimulate significant economic growth, increase provincial tax revenues, and create jobs.
”More than any other policy tool, mandated requirements for renewable fuel content build domestic capacity for biofuel production and stimulate economic growth,” said CRFA President W. Scott Thurlow. “We support this call to implement renewable fuels regulations in Atlantic Canada and further develop a biofuels industry in the region.”
