CANADA PIONEERS ADVANCED BIOFUEL FIRST

Ottawa, ON: The Canadian Renewable Fuels Association today congratulated Royal Dutch Shell and Canada’s Iogen Corporation on the launch of the world’s first cellulose ethanol blend fuel demonstration open to the public.

For one month starting June 10, regular gasoline purchased at a Shell service station in Ottawa will contain 10% cellulosic ethanol produced at Iogen’s demonstration plant. Iogen is the recognized world leader in development of cellulose ethanol.

“This is a milestone achievement for advanced biofuels,” said, Gordon Quaiattini, President of the Canadian Renewable Fuels Association.
