This submission by Renewable Industries Canada offers credible GHG modelling and analysis to map out the role of biofuels and other technologies in delivering tonnage reductions under the Federal Clean Fuel Standard (CFS). Analysis demonstrates that liquid fuels could deliver anywhere from 25 to 36 megatonnes of GHG reductions by 2030, based on lifecycle modelling under GHGenius 5.0. That is, 83% to 120% of the federal government’s overall CFS target. We also offer analysis on the cost of abatement for biofuels in particular.
